Ian Rice is the CEO of Envirocann, a leading certification body in the cannabis and hemp industries, and a pioneer in establishing transparent, third-party standards for clean, compliant, and regenerative cultivation and manufacturing. Since taking over as CEO in 2019, Ian has led Envirocann to become one of the few OCal-accredited certifiers, positioning the Envirocann and EnvirOganic marks as emerging gold standards for certified cannabis and boutique agriculture.

Ian is also the co-founder and CEO of SameTeam, a strategy and marketing firm that provides certified operators with post-certification brand support, retail visibility, and consumer-facing campaigns—offering a unique "certify + amplify" model that sets Envirocann apart from other certifiers in the space.

In addition to his work in certification, Ian is the founder and CEO of 1212 Gateway, a wellness and skincare brand that reflects his broader commitment to clean, plant-based consumer goods and transparent sourcing.

Earlier in his career, Ian co-founded SC Laboratories and played a pivotal role in building it into one of the country’s most respected cannabis testing labs. He exited the company in 2020 following a successful acquisition and has since focused his efforts on advancing sustainability, transparency, and consumer trust in the regulated cannabis market.
